Description of Online Test

There were 3 sections - Aptitude, Programming, Digital Electronics Aptitude - All questions were on basic mathematics like probability, profit and loss, permutations, etc. Much preparation is not needed for this. Just keep a good pace. Programming - Data structures, C programming. This section also consisted of basic questions. Digital Electronics - Most of the questions were from DSD 1 & 2, EDC. Very few were from other core subjects.

Description of Technical interview

He asked me about my project. It was a very small project but he asked very deeply about it. Then some basic Data structures and C++ questions like implementing queues using stacks, goto statements, infinite loops etc. He then asked me what I knew about the company.(Research somewhat about the company before going for the interview). He asked if I would prefer Embedded systems coding (software c++) or RTL level coding (hardware verilog).

Description of HR round

It was not at all an interview, just a friendly phone call. She asked me very normal questions like why I wanted to join Qualcomm, how was my technical interview, location preference etc.

What should be the preparation strategy for an aspiring candidate?

Revise all the core subjects and focus on C/C++ programming, data structures as well. You should be strong in all fundamentals. Whether you will be asked about hardware or software or both completely depends on the interviewer and you will never know.

In interviews, just be confident and say whatever you know about the question. Do not get disheartened if you don't get the internship because the reason for the same might not always be lack of knowledge or skill. If you are reading this in your 2nd or 1st year, try to attain a good CGPA because it matters A LOT.
