Things that were put to test were,
-> Detail style

And then there was a short survey at the end of assessments to evaluate candidate experience.

26 students were shortlisted for the interviews.

Description of Technical Interview:

There were two technical interviews overall which were mostly focused on projects rather than problem solving.
There was a quick introduction at the beginning of the interview.
One thing that is important to remember while giving the interview for Amazon is their Leadership principles which they value the most and they expect the candidate to use those concepts to answer the questions they ask.
After the introduction they moved on to the resume and started discussing the projects that were included.
There were multiple questions asked on all of the projects that were mentioned in the resume and they did ask a vast amount of questions regarding the technologies used in the projects and some general questions about how the internet works and what was the inspiration behind the projects and so.
They were least concerned about whether you can solve a DSA question which will be asked in most of the companies, instead they were interested in seeing whether the candidate can implement something and can explain it in a manner that the other side is attracted and convinced by it.
There were questions about internet protocols, algorithms used to implement the project, DNS etc.

Description of HR Round:

HR round consisted of two parts (LP's + 15 mins PPT)
LP round was all about Leadership Principles of Amazon which were about 15 and the questions were asked to be answered in STAR pattern which is (Situation, Task, Action and Result) and the candidates were expected to answer using the leadership principles.
After the LP part was done we had to present a PPT for 15 mins.
We were asked to prepare the PPT before the interview.
The PPT should include the projects you did, the inspiration behind it, the problems you faced and how you overcame it.
You were judged on how presentable the PPT is and how easy it is to understand.

All the interviews were to be given by all candidates.
7 students were selected finally.

Preparation Strategy:

Getting the basics good is the first step before doing anything.
After the basics are set then one can proceed in any way that seems fit.
Two main things for the placements would be having good knowledge on DSA (Data structures and algorithms) and having good projects with good knowledge on the technologies that are used in the projects.
Having OOPS, OS and DBMS knowledge will surely be an advantage.
Consistency plays a key role in acquiring anything and in this case it does help a lot, do practice DSA problems regularly from any source you feel comfortable with as there are many like Geeksforgeeks, leetcode, hackerrank etc.
Being with like minded people will help a lot during the learning phase where each other can motivate each other and will boost productivity.
