Selection Procedure:

There were two rounds.
Round 1: OT
Round 2: Technical + HR Interviews combined

Description of Online test:

The OT consisted of elementary questions from Analog, Digital Electronics, Circuit Theory, Machines, Control Systems, and General Aptitude.

Description of Technical Interview:

The interviewer first asked me about my subjects that semester, they then asked me my most prepared topic (Power Systems Protection). The questions were then asked from this subject only, which were typically viva-like, focusing only on practical and conceptual knowledge. Questions from Power Systems and Machines were also asked. At the end of the interview, they asked me to talk about some projects they were developing in the electrical sector.

Description of HR Round:

Since they were combined, only a limited number of questions were asked. The first was to tell them about myself. After this, the technical questions started which were asked by another panel member.
The final questions asked were to talk about my strengths and weaknesses, and that if I was comfortable with moving across different sites.

Preparation Strategy:

Maintain proper notes during classes, and refer to at least two books for the same subject to better understand the concepts. The only preparation sufficient for core jobs is to keep revising the subjects taught during the semesters. Special focus should be given to Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Machines (only 1 and 2).
As far as OT preparation is concerned, the subjects the questions will be asked from cannot be exactly pinpointed, so it will be better to have a surface-level knowledge of all subjects. Sufficient practice should be done for Circuit Theory and Control Systems.
Also be well-read on the projects, and products of whatever company you apply to.

Resources:

The reference books used by the professors, and mentioned in the syllabus will be sufficient.

Additional info for our viewers:

Do not get disheartened by seeing the limited companies that come for the core field in comparison to the other fields. Be patient and maintain your focus. Opportunities will come, and the only factor deciding your success will be your preparation.
