Selection Procedure:
Online test followed by 2 rounds of technical interviews.
Description of Online test:
Online test had three sections
1.) Aptitude:- Odd one out, reading a passage, arithmetic problems, and questions on arrangements inferred from a passage.
2.) Software 1:- Data Structures, Basic programming, OOPs
3.) Hardware (Digital only) :- Flip flops, Registers, Computer Architecture, Microprocessors, Assembly language.
Description of Technical Interview:
Round 1:-
Elementary questions.
2s complement and a circuit to implement it both in verilog and schematic.
Questions on Static Timing Analysis.
Basic construction of D flip flop.
Round 2:-
Processor Architecture for 5 stage pipeline.
Addressing issues caused by pipelining (RAW,WAR).
Protocols for communication between modules (AHB).
8086 ALP Programming.
Verilog code to measure duty cycle and time period of an unknown signal.
Description of HR Round:
Just a general discussion on work location preferences and if I was interested in getting a master's degree.
Preparation Strategy:
If you plan to get into hardware, do not abandon prep for software roles completely- treat it as a backup option. Opportunities in hardware are minuscule in contrast to software.
